May 23rd saw our very first Ruth is Stranger than Fiction live event, in the Enid Porter room of the Museum of Cambridge.   1. Henry Sidgwick (1838-1900) founder and first president of the Society of Psychical research. Kind eyes, enormous beard.

  2. Frederic W.H. Myers (1843-1901). John Malkovich lookalike, poet, and possible rogue. Owner of Leckhampton House, where the Eusapia Palladino trials took place.

  3. Edmund Gurney (1847-1888). An all round excellent sort with a very fine moustache. Died in Brighton under mysterious circumstances.

  4. Spirit photography by William Hope (debunked).

  5. A materialisation of ectoplasm by French medium Eva Carriere (1886-1943).
